Kindles

P's parents gave us a kindle 10 years ago for Christmas.  We didn't use it for a while because we're kind of slow adopters.  Generally if we want something, we get it.  But we didn't know we wanted a kindle so we didn't start using it for a while.  Then we did start using it and now we have 6.  We keep a supply of them and each of the children has gotten one at a younger and younger birthday.  M at 9, lP at 8, B at 7.  They all love having their collection of books and being able to get the same books as each other.

B has a collection of 777 clean jokes.  He just reads them out loud and it's so cute.  His new book for Good and Beautiful language arts has the reader incorporated in the lessons.  I don't have the reader but they did have it for free download so I got it put on his kindle.  Yay!  Now he has many great books there available to him.

I'm grateful that the Ps have us a kindle all those years ago.  We try to be careful about what technology we have.  We try to only download educational, preferably math and music games onto the ipads that we share as a family.  M and G have blueberry phones, and G's is lost so he can't even turn it in for my Iphone 4 since I will be upgrading to an Iphone 6 soon.  Iphones are up to 12 now.  We get the old kindles too, that are just E-readers (4-5-6 generation).  We bought an ipad 3 two years ago when M's teacher was offering lots of good music ap resources and we wanted all the children to use those.  It was the oldest ipad that would run the aps and only cost $100.  We do have a really nice ipad pro that we bought back in March for me to make movies on and M to have as a piano music reader.  And now I am almost caught up on the movies!
